David N. Preece is an Associate with the firm. He holds dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Geographical Information Systems, from Brigham Young University, and a J.D. from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University. David has worked for the local companies of Novell Inc. and Caldera Inc. He has also spent time performing civic service in his appointment as the Director of Securities for the state of Utah. David currently works in U.S. and international patent, trademark, and copyright prosecution and counseling, licensing and transfer of intellectual property, contracts, enforcement of intellectual property, and related litigation. His areas of patent practice include the fields of mechanical engineering, semi-conductor, civil engineering, e-commerce and business IP, medical products and surgical instruments.
