Karl Cannon is a Shareholder with the firm. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering and a J.D. from Brigham Young University, where he served as an editor for the Journal of Education and Law. He also served judicial internships with the Honorable Judge Randall R. Rader in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and with the Honorable Judge Eric G. Bruggink in the U.S. Court of Federal Claims. He has worked for consulting engineering firms and engineering agencies in Utah and Wisconsin, and has authored numerous articles on intellectual property law in professional journals and newspapers. Prior to co-founding the firm, Mr. Cannon was a patent attorney and partner in his previous patent law firm. Mr. Cannon specializes in U.S. and international patent, trademark, and copyright prosecution and counseling, licensing and transfer of intellectual property, contracts, enforcement of intellectual property, and related litigation. His areas of patent practice include the fields of mechanical, industrial, and civil engineering, physics, medical products and surgical instruments, mechanics of materials, and fundamental levels of chemical, electrical, electronic and computer-related applications.
