Weili Cheng is Of Counsel with the firm. She holds Bachelor of Science (Biological Sciences) and Master of Science (Virology) degrees from Wuhan University, and a Doctor of Philosophy (Molecular Biology) degree and J.D. from the University of Utah. She has 15 years of experience in biotechnology research and teaching and has published scientific papers in the fields of virology, molecular genetics, enzymology, microbiology, and molecular evolution. Prior to joining the firm, Dr. Cheng was a patent attorney and associate partner in a Salt Lake area intellectual property firm. Dr. Cheng's experience has included preparing and prosecuting patent applications in a wide variety of chemistry and biochemistry, drug delivery, pharmaceutical and biomedical compositions and devices, biotech and polymer chemistry arts, infringement and validity studies, licensing, assisting with litigation, trademark and copyright practice, IP due diligence and corporate IP management responsibilities. Dr. Cheng's practice focuses on U.S. and international patenting of inventions in the areas of biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, chemistry, and biomedical products. Language: Chinese.
